heyyyyyyyyy...

I know it's been a looooongg time, but I've been busy so lay off,,,eh.
The main thing anybody should know is I'm going to Mexico at the end
of the week and after I get back I'll start workin for PG&E (
http://www.pge.com ) I'm really excited about that. The benefits
they have are just nuts. I also went to a San Jose Sharks playoff
game last Thursday night.....awesome.. the Sharks beat the Nashville
Predators 5-4, it was tight down to the final seconds of the game,,
Patrick Marleau got a hat trick (scored three goals)... but alas, my
#2 seeded Dallas Stars lost in 5 games to the 7th seeded Colorado
Avalanche (another team I love to watch), so I'm fully on the San Jose
Shark wagon for the duration of the playoffs.

Wierd crap today..

So I went into San Francisco to take a pre-employment test with PG&E
(yes, the "rolling blackout PG&E) and I took BART (subway) to town to
avoid evening traffic. I got there several hours early to kinda look
around and see a few sights. I ducked into a McDonalds to eat and
browse the web via wi-fi with the psp.

So I'm sitting there at the front window, I look off to my right and
see San Francisco's finest blocking the intersection on Davis or Drumm
street (don't remember which) and I think, "interesting," maybe
somebody had a complicated fender-bender. I quickly look down the
other end of the street and it's business as usual. I continue
eating.

A few more minutes pass and I just happen to look to my LEFT, just in
time to see ANOTHER cop putting up a police line, I look right again
and the other line is still up. So then, I look at my qp w/cheese
(what's left of it) and inhale it and decide since the police are on
the street still shooing people away, now would be a good time to
leave. I'm thinking, if it's a chemical spill, I'm gonna get locked
into McDonald's for better or worse, screw that.

So grab my crap reallllll quick, throw the backpack on and head out
the door and to the left, that's where the cops are sending people.
There's a crowd gathered at the street and they are all looking to see
what's going on. I look back and not only this block, but the block
on up the street has also been cordoned off. Now, I'm really curious,
so I actually walk around the block and toward the middle of the two
blocks, well..
As I get to the corner of the two, I see a San Francisco PD EOD truck
(bomb truck) and a cop at the corner of a really big bank telling
people coming back from lunch, "Bank's closed, enjoy the rest of the
day off."

You don't have to hit me over the head with a backhoe, I get it, it's
now time for me to get out of dodge. The initial curiousity wore off
pretty damn quick, and then all I could really think about was, "what
if it's real, what if it's a dirty bomb, if it is and it goes off,
will I be contaminated, if not, will a bomb go off in the bart
station, if I do get contaminated what the hell, I've got no health
insurance, " but even as I'm thinking these things I'm not really
panicking, I'm more thinking, "no biggie, sf pd's got it under
control. They did a good job of quickly cordoning off the area, but
let's face it, a "real" terrorist will give no such notice. And even
they do, what are the pd gonna do if it goes off.

I scoured the news when I got home and have found NOTHING on the subject.

You read it here first.
